How would i curl my hair if a curling iron doesn't curl it or it won't hold? could i use rollers, & how do i?

i have tried to curl my hair with a curling iron and it just doesn't cut it. i have seen people use rollers, but i don't know if it will give me the curl i want or if it will just curl it under...How would i curl my hair if a curling iron doesn't curl it or it won't hold? could i use rollers, %26amp; how do i?
Rollers give you volume, but it may be difficult to use. To achieve curls by using rollers, you should try to do some more research on them or look on youtube! For curls? Make sure it is really hot, you can start at the end of your hair then roll up, then turn the curler to make it vertical. Curls vary, the way you let go of it can differ. Some may come out thin and curly/wavy while some can come out looking like a ';cylinder'; barrel type look. You can also start curling your hair from the middle and curl towards your face then when it gets close pull away from you to get the excess hair. You can use hairspray after you are done or while your hair is wrapped in the iron. You can also use gel or mousse after. But this may give weight to your curls and might make them look more wavy or dye out. You can try big or small curling irons. To do easy and quick curls, you can even get the curling irons with spirals already in them! I have one and it works wonders =] but you can only hold in a certain amount of hair. You can also curl your hair with a hair straightener, bust most likely if it is the barrel and rounded thin kind. To do the straightener way, you have to start from the middle then curl, then pull out just like you would if you did it this way with the curling iron. Here are some videos to achieve other types of curls.

You could use hairspray to hold it or buy a more expensive curling iron
put moose in your hair, then use the curling iron

or just use heated curlers, and then use a lot of hair spray!

Clamp the flat iron at a top of a strip of hair, and and twist your wrist, while gradually pulling down the straightener. Hope this helps, love!!How to curl hair with a flat iron?

    i would strongly reccomend youtube

    it helped me sooo much

i find curling with my straightener easier then my curler now :]

    xx
you do exactly as you would do with a curling iron just make sure you curl it the right way so it comes out looking nice.
the same as when u curl it with a curling iron.... just make sure that ur straightener is thin and not thick or else it wont work
    follow these great tips

    # Start off by dividing your hair, this can be done by parting your hair into two parts straight down the middle. For each side, roll your hair into a bun and hold it up with a clip. You also should repeat the last step for the other part of your hair.

    # Turn on your straightener, and place it onto a sensible place.

    # You will then need to take a bit of hair out of your bun this section of your hair you take out should be as thick as one of your fingers.

    # You then need to hold that section of hair near the end of the straightener. You are then required to place the iron over the section of your hair. Afterwards, wrap that section of hair around the bottom plate.

    # You will then need to gently close the straightener lightly gripping the section of your hair. Then glide the straightener down towards the ends and rotate it outwards. If you don't like the curl you end up with you can always try again on the same section of your hair

    # You then need to repeat step 3-5, and use it to curl up the rest of your hair with a straightener.

Curling iron help for naturally curl hair?

i have curly hair a lil longer htan my shoulders. i usually wash it with shampoo%26amp; conditioner, when i get out of the shower i dry my hair with a towel, then i use sunsilk creme and then mousse to keep my hair from going all frizzy and poofy,

im ok with that type of hair but i want to try something new.

i was thinking of washing it b4 i go to bed and putting on the sunsilk creme ( if i don't it i will wake up with clown hair) then waking up in the morning, put on mouse and then curling it with a curling iron. what do u think? will my hair turn out right or will it just frizz

oh and ...how do i use a curling iron on my naturally curly hair?!?

thanks :DCurling iron help for naturally curl hair?

I have naturally curly hair too (frizzy as well if not cared for properly) , and trust me, the curling iron doesn't help...

What ends up happening is I curl it with that and I hairspray it, but throughout the day the curls flatten out and become strange. What I do to refresh my hair after I sleep is I just put some product (smoothing serum or mousse) and water in my hand and wet my hair and apply the product to reshape the curls.
Check out NaturallyCurly.com, especially the ';Curl Talk'; messages boards. I've learned a lot from those boards, regarding products %26amp; techniques. Many users on that site follow the ';curly girl'; method to improve the health of the hair and get better curls, which is based on a book by Lorraine Massey.

Can you go to a salon and just get your hair curled with a curling iron?

I have a curling iron at home but my hair is pretty long and i have a lot of hair.. so it takes me a long time. I was thinking about actually going to a salon this time to get it done for a party. I've never really gone to a real salon just places like great clips and hair cuttery. How much does this typically cost too?Can you go to a salon and just get your hair curled with a curling iron?
yes u can goCan you go to a salon and just get your hair curled with a curling iron?
    yup you can..

    the price is very different

it depends on the salon youre going to...

    it shouldnt be too expensive
yeah, you can but they charge you a lot for it because it takes so long to do. If it takes as long as a haircut, they charge you the haircut price or more sometimes.
they'll charge based on the length of your hair, the longer your hair the more expensive.
most places charge by the length of your hair and time it takes to do it. i would recommend that you have clean, dry hair when you go to the salon. this will help you with the price it shouldn't be more than $25-30. unless you want something crazy that takes hours to do. and theres nothing wrong with great clips and those types of places. they go to the same school as everyone else.. if your only getting your hair curled.. chances are those places will be alot cheaper, if thats what you are going for.
Yes, you could definitely go to a salon, and if you do it's almost always guaranteed to look fabulous.

The price depends on what salon you go to, and which stylist does it. In some salons, the prices change with each stylist because of their experience, time in the salon, etc.

It shouldn't cost too much if youre ONLY getting it curled- that would just be thermal styling. now, if it was an updo, that would be different. Look up some salons and call around.
Yes, salons offer what is called ';style only'; for people who just want their hair styled for a special occasion, but not necessarily cut. The price depends on the salon, and the geographic location.

    Call a few hair salons in your area and say, ';I am calling to inquire if your hair stylists will style my hair for a special occasion, and how much the salon charges for 'style only'.';

Unless you know someone who can recommend a stylist personally, that is the best way to find out without driving around and wasting gas money.
If you go to a place like hair cuttery or great clips, you just ask them for a style. They will charge around 25 dollars and maybe a little more if your hair is ridiculously long, and if you get her to shampoo your hair before it'll be about 2 dollars more ontop of the price. It's best not to wash your hair a day before you get it styled because the oils in your hair will hold the curls for a lot longer. Good luck!!!
    yes you can. :D

i actually always go to a salon before a party or girls night out to set my hair up.

it doesn't cost much since it's not like you are goin to have a perm or haircut.

it depends on how long your hair is and how popular your stylist is.

if your hair is very long and you pick the most popular stylist in the salon, then it would cost more than $50.

my hair is long ( waist length) and i pick a ok stylist.

they usually charge me for $20 - $45

How to curl hair using a spiral curling iron?

When it comes to styling hair, I have no talent. My husband is coming home from Afghanistan in a few weeks and I want to do something more with my hair...I usually just keep it straight. I recently bought a spiral curling iron, I've been practicing with it but still not good at it. What are some pointers you can give me? Is it best to curl hair after its washed? What are good products to use when curling hair?

Any other info you have would be great!!

P.S. My hair is shoulder length, but I'm getting it trimmed in a couple weeks. How to curl hair using a spiral curling iron?
congrats on our husband first of all(:

hmm spiral curls CAN be tricky.

so part your hair into three sections from ear to ear. the front the middle and the bottom.

then just clip them up top.

    leave the bottom section down.

then grab a small section of hair and clip i at the bottom fo the barrel then turn the curler and guide the strand of hair along the ridges (it should be in between the ridges)

do this on a low heat setting until you get the hang of it. you wouldn't want to burn your hair.

continue to this until you're done with the bottom section and spray it with some hair spray so they stay, let it dry and clip it back (the curls shouldn't come off)

then do the middle part. spray and clip it.

then part the top section however you want to wear it and curl it. spray and unclip the back when you're done.

if you find that you look too Temple, you can brush your hair and the curls turn into wave kinda like this:

    http://www.imageandstylenews.com/wp-cont

but that will only work if you have layered hair(:

I have heard you could curl hair with a flat iron. I have naturally curly hair but I want nice big curls like these:http://dyn-images.hsni.com/is/image/HomeShoppingNetwork/429214?$pd300$

Personal Experience, videos or anything would be great

thanks! How do you curl your hair with a flat iron?
normal ones don't really do anything, they kind of crimp it you do that by fastening the flat iron on the end of your hair, and wrapping it around till your at your root, then hold for 10 seconds and let it go. You need a special flat iron for curling hair. Your best bet is a big barrel curling iron, or curl enhancer. How do you curl your hair with a flat iron?
This is what I've seen on tv and a vendor in the mall selling flat irons stopped me because I have long hair that I regularly straighten. He took my hair in a small section and with the iron fully heated, put the hair in the iron up high near the scalp or wherever you want the curls to start and then you wind the hair over and over the iron itself and not twirling the iron. You hold the hair in place for however tight you want the curl and gently release the hair from the iron. I had a beautiful soft wavy curl with it done in that fashion. To straighten the curl, you just flat iron in the normal way. Hope this works for you.
sometimes this works but i take the straightener and put hair in it, and twist it hold it and let go, sometimes that works good luck
This helped me a lot, and I also have a chi.

What's a way to curl hair without using a curling iron?

It takes like, 3 hours for me to curl my hair with a curling iron, so I want to curl my hair overnight. The problem is, I seem to have lost all my foam curlers. And I don't have hot rollers. What can I do to make curls overnight? (Not braids, that makes waves, not curls)

    Something like this:

Thank you! What's a way to curl hair without using a curling iron?
I would suggest getting foam rollers if you can but if you need it for tomorrow you can make rag curlers! cut up an old t shirt into strips and then wrap strands of hair around the rags then twist and secure the rag near your head. that will create soft curls overnight and they are not uncomfy to sleep with. also sometimes i just put lost of ballerina (twisty) buns all over my head and bobby pin them close to my scalp. i would spray some hairspray while they hair is still went and then again in the morning! good luck! :)What's a way to curl hair without using a curling iron?
You can try it with a straightner

Go on you tube and look it up
    2 ways without heat.

1- wash your hair and towel dry it until its damp. when your ready seperate your hair into two sections the upper and lower section ( like you were creating a half ponytail ) take the upper half and brush it back like you were making a ponytail and grab the ends and twist your hair til its all one big twisted section and then wrap it into a bun and tie it with a elastic. do the same to the bottom section. in the morning take out the buns and seperate the hair into small section of curls.

2 - when your hair is damp take sections of your hair .. spray it with hair spray and make a O shape with your hair by rolling your hair up and securing it with a bobbypin. do this wil all your hair and in the morning take it out.
you can use hair straightener too to curl your hair. just try to form curl using the iron
take a shower at night and while it's still a little damp wrap it in a loose bun (or 2 on each side) and by the morning it should be wavy like that.
    Those look more like waves

    so I would say use

the Sunsilk Waves of Envy line.

You put it in wet hair and twist your hair

in sections. Let it air dry without

    touching it too much.

    Good Luck
    it's super easy!!

put a little bit of mousse in your hair and part it into 4 parts you have to twist your hair into small buns...the tighter the curlier your hair will turn out. sleep with them overnight and you should get the look you want =D

    hope that helped
    you could use a straightener

if that doesn't work that there is something called paper bag curls

if you don't make the curls 2 tight and more loose

you could end up getting your hair to look like that

    here's a tutorial

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoZ2QGq0n
do it with a straightner, it looks beautiful.

Take a section of hair, and clamp straitner down on about two inches from root of hair, wrap the hair around straightner and rotate circle around in a circle and start bringing it down, make sure you do it fast though. Also, if the curl doesnt turn out right, try twisting it around to make the curl look prettier. the curl from the straightner most likely won't look right at first, twist it around a little until you find the right curl.

If you want a video tutorial, try searching it on youtube. i think it's fast and effective.

    Thanks.

Hi there! Okay, I know a girl who has very straight hair and to get it curly like those pictures she puts product in her hair that is made to enhance or create curls when she comes out of the shower and her hair is totally wet. But if you want your hair to be like the picture then only put a little bit in your hair half way down because their hair was curled with a curing iron very loosely. In fact that doesn't take Although of time at all. Just loosely put the curling iron around strands in your hair around the bottom of your head. Use a large curling iron btw. Hope I helped! :)
yeahh i dont have a curling iron so when i feel like straightening my hair i use my straightener cuz i only have that. the wire gets all tangled but other than that it works really well! and i never straighten or curl my hair to leave them overnight, cuz when i wake up its all ruined. idk about u but i have bedhead lol. well, you should try it hope it works!!!

P.S. it also kinda depends on ur straightener too... flat irons work best!
You can't get the second look without using a hairdryer and a large round brush. That is a blowout. The first look you could get by wetting the hair about 3 inches from the scalp to the tips. Section off hair in 2 by 2 inch pieces. Twist the section until it looks like a strand of rope, and continue twisting until it rolls up on itself or you can roll into a pinwheel shape. Secure it to your scalp with a bobby pin. In the morning, take out the pins, and ';comb'; through with just your fingers.
I think that you should get more rollers but heated rollers. I'm gonna get that.

How to curl hair with a straightening iron.?

I watched videos on how to curl hair with a straightening iron and i'm still confused on how to do it. It looks better then a regular curling iron so I want to beable to learn how. Please Help. Thanks. How to curl hair with a straightening iron.?
Thoroughly brush your hair and section it with hair bands or clips.

Start from the bottom layer of hair on one side. Take a small section of hair. Using a thin iron, clamp it at the bottom of your hair and slowly curl it upwards.

Hold it for about 5 or so seconds, and gently remove the straightener.

    or...

Instead, take the section, lightly mist it with a flexible hairspray. Then place the flat iron about an inch away from your scalp. Twist the iron completely around and then pull it down toward the ends of your hair. This will create the same kind of effect you get when you use a scissor to curl the ends of a ribbon. Running it over your hair slowly will create a tighter curl, and quickly will create a looser curl or make it wavy.

Do this to the bottom layer of your hair right around to the other side, then move up and go around until all of your hair is curled.

Spray your hair to hold your style (optional). How to curl hair with a straightening iron.?
start with the straightners at the top of your hair, as if you were straightening them. then turn them so the bottom is facing up, 180'. if you want loose curls drag it through quickly, and tighter curls slowly. there is more info on the ghd website i think.
take you hair straightner, get a strand of your hair that you want to curl. clasp the straightner tightly on the strand of hair

and roll the straightener about 3 times, then hold it in place for about 10 seconds and let go, your hair should be curly... but it wont last long, cause straightners dont really curl hair that good.
ohhh i know! i found this GREAT video on you tube... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k57daS_c_yI or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffu1BmJGATQ%26amp;mode=related%26amp;search= PERFECT examples .... cut and paste the addresses in teh search bar!!! good luck! P.S. make sure your hair is EXTREMELY DRY and yes it will last a long time... i use a CHI straightner and it works wonders... but also i think you may have a hard time using a wider set style straightner

sponge rollers. use them on your slightly damp hair at night and in the morning unravel and behold gorgeousness.

one way is to buy thos foam hair culer things that you put in after washing your hair.. then blow dry them slighty with your hairdryer then sleep in them.. when you wake up in the morning yuo will have curly hair.

be warned though.... it takes a few practices to make it perfect.. so don't try it for the first time before somethig important :)

    xx
a blow dryer and a brush
YOu can't do that unless you use hot rollers or roll your hair wiel it's almost dry. and dry it with a blow dryer .. :)
A blow dryer and round brush

    Old fashion curlers

    Or..

Get it all wet and start curling with your fingers =)
try curlers..the old fashioned way lol. but if your hair really is stick straight then a curling iron would probably be the most effective way.
here are a few optinons ...

    1) a perm

    2) when your hair is wet braid/plait it before bed

3)Curling iron BUT use protector spay

    4) scrunching products

. I wish my hair was very straight mine is naturally wavy and i am constantly straightening it !!
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=k57daS_c_yI

    she makes it look easy
well my best friend has stick straight hair also and she just curls it with a curl iron and it doesnt really hurt her hair all that much just dont do it everyday but there are a few ways you could get your hair curly

1 you could use curlers you can buy them at any local store

2 you can also curl your hair with a straghtner

3 you could just use a curling iron and use a bottle of heat protection on your hair(not whole bottle at one time haha)

    but yea good luck!
When your hair is wet or damp, take really tiny strands of hair, twist it till it shrinks to your scalp then bobby pin it down. So by the end, you should have like over 30 ';circles'; of hair all around your scalp. leave that in over night, or several hours (at least 6 hours) then take em out in the morning and let your hair fall into place, or style how you want it!
If you have a good straightner you can twist your hair around the end of he straightner
Rollers, hands down. It took me over twenty years of trial and error to find the best curling rollers. Stay away from foam rollers...they tend to break your hair and leave indentations in your hair.

For much smoother, break free hair, use plastic rollers.

They can be found at beauty supply stores such as Sally's, for less than two dollars a dozen. They have a black elastic string built on that caps at the end of the roller. That prevents you from having a separate cap on the roller.

I have found these rollers are the ones cheerleaders sleep in before tournaments to get those really curly ponytails. Also, hairdressers frequently use them for sit under dryer styles.
    braids will be perfect!

my hair is naturally straight too!
That is going to be hard and most likely you'll have a hard time accomplishing that goal. You can try using curling products, like mousse, gel or crunching spray. You can also try using shampoo meant for curly hair.

If you don't want to cause heat damage, use products that will prevent that from happening and always keep the irons on low. Or else you can just learn to love, live and accpect your beautiful and wonderful straight hair instead of trying to change it the way it was born.
Wet your hair but make sure its not to wet. then get some mouse and put it in your hand and scrunch your hair it will go curly once its the way you want it spary with hair spray, thats how i do mine and it turns out great! :)
scrunch yur hair dampen it and appy scruch stuff to it my favorite is vo5 extreme sytle curvaceous curls
you can do it old school (like 1800's) with rags!! just wrap your damp hair around strips of rags and tie them up before you go to bed, and wrap your head in a towel.. and voila!! when you wake up and take out the rags .. you have curls w/ no heat
Pin Curls..Finger roll it and pin it up....might work best if left like that over night..
buy a curl activator (kms has a great one) sleep in rollers, or twirl ur hair then put it up in a bun..i think the best thing is ceramic ho rolls, they really dont damage ur hair at all

first if your hair is hard to curl use a curl enhancing shamoo condiotioner and spritzer like john freida, then take the curling iron, wrap it around half of your hair but not the very end, and turn it diagonally just do some small parts then seperate with your fingers, hot rollers are a good alternitive

here's a really good how to step by step video

http://youtube.com/watch?v=3nqEfr5GXMYHow do you curl your hair with a curling iron to give it loose curls?
get a big barrel curling iron

    1) brush out your hair completely

    2) use sunsilk de-frizz creme (in the green bottle)

    3) let stand for 5 minutes

    4) Start curling 1 inch wide groups of hair at a time, clipping backl the parts you have curled

    5) to curl, hook curling iron up top by your head leaving 3-4 inches left before your scalp. Then wrap all hair around it, makig sure you dont layer is all up on the same place. Put every bit on a part with just as much heat as another part. Hold for 10-30 seconds (depending on your hair type, thick hair is 30, medium is 15, and thin is 10)

    6) Do this for every 1 inch wide group on your head, being careful not to burn yourself

    7) use hard curls gel, or any kind of gel to keep things in place (pretty much all gels)

    8) Spray with extra hold hairspray and you should hair loose, free, delicious curls

    Glad to help!

    ~Becca
Rather than clamping down with the curling iron, wrap your hair around the curling iron. Also, product is key---use a curl enhancing mousse and texturizing spray prior to curling.
just take a piece of hair and wrap it in a spiral around the curling iron hold it for about 15seconds then after you are done spray with some mouse and anti frizz and u will be set..good luck
There are two ways of doing that

    1) You can get a large curling iron and curl your hair (section your hair then grab a small section and curl) or

    2) if you're using a small to medium curler, when you've curled your hair like normal, get a brush and just brush your curls gently until you've got your desired look!

    Hope I helped!
oh thats easy. you just take a medium sized peice of hair and make sure is brushed out well then spray both sides of it lightly with hair spray. then curl it for about 20 seconds(depending on how good ur iron is) then break ur curls apart and spray them more. DONT BRUSH THEM OUT!

How do i curl my hair with a curling iron??

i want to know how to curl my medium length, layered hair with a curling iron to get long curly locks like jessica simpson and brittany murphy. everytime i try to curl my hair, i get a really poofy ';shirly temple'; type hairstyle. is there a certain way i need to hold the iron?? any help will be greatly appreciated!!

thanx! How do i curl my hair with a curling iron??
yes! Apply mousse/serum/etc. Separate a strand, clip the iron near the top of the strand while holding on to the end, and slowly pul the iron down a little at a time and turn the rod to begin curling the hair. This will give you a less poofy look, more 'refined' curls. You can then lightly comb your fingers through them to get the wavy look in desired places.

Whenever I curl my hair, it stays wavy for a few hours then goes back to being straight. What can I do to keep it wavy all day??How can I keep my hair wavy after I curl it with a curling iron?
spray each section with hairspray before you curl it.How can I keep my hair wavy after I curl it with a curling iron?
use hair spray to hold the wave on each peice of hair when curling.
spray each section with hairspray before you curl it and when your done. and when you finish all of your hair put more hairspray on
hairspray works awesome, especially if you use a little gel before you curl it
    i have this same problem

lightly hairspray each piece! it keeps from wieghing the curls down

    lightly is the key

and dont do a big sray around your hol head afterwards
Most people said to use hair spray, which will work, but if you don't like how icky and stiff your hair gets when using hair spray I would suggest using a product for wavy hair. Or get shampoos/conditioners that would help keep your waves... wavy. Try Bonfi WET-N-WAVY Leave In Conditioner. Hope I could help.

How would you curl your hair with a curling iron? [Help]?

So I try to curl my hair with all the same techniques that normally is needed, but when i let the clamp go it seems that there isn't a curl at all, it ends up like a wave but not a distinct, cute curl. Please help me with good detailing. thanks! :)How would you curl your hair with a curling iron? [Help]?
sounds like you're putting too much hair in the curling iron. use small sections of hair, spray them with hairspray and then curl. section your hair and work from the bottom of your head upwards. depending on how thick/heavy and how much hair there is this can take some time to do! good luck :)How would you curl your hair with a curling iron? [Help]?
Certain types of hair dont curl as easily as others. Sometimes if you hair has just been freshly washed, the hair is to soft to hold onto the curl. My suggestion would be to either wait a day after washing your hair, or tryin a prep cream or spray. Tresemme is a good brand, and isn't to expensive. Other than that, before letting the clamp out, slide the hair off of the curling iron, still rolled up, and hold it for a second before letting it go. When you curl your hair, you're breaking the bond it usually has, so letting the hair cool down before letting it go sets the bond in the curl. I hope this helps, good luck!
I don't use the ';clamp'; it ruins the curl. Heres how I would do it hope it helps!

Insted of using the clamp warp the hair around the barrel without clamping the hair hold spray and then release it should give a ';spiral effect'; This also helps your hair by not burning it as bad
after u take a shower (dont dry hair) put into braids sleep with the braids in and when u wake up use a lil' hairspray and its wavy. dont brush it alot in the morning or it will give it a more i-didnt-dry-my-hair-last-night look lol !
don't open the clasp, and let your hair fall out...just pull out the curling iron vertically and do not touch a hot curL! wait till its cooled down

buy la looks curling gelHow do i curl my hair without a curling iron?
Do it with a straightening iron. Don't waste your time with other time consuming ways.

So - Take a piece of hair, depending on how big you want the curls to be

-start at the root, twist the iron, and slowly pull it down to the tips.

It takes a lot of getting used to and practice, but is quick and easy once you get used to it. If you want it to be more curly, pull the iron down slower, and if you just want more of a wave, pull it faster - easy. I sometimes give them a little backcomb if i want the messy look, and because it helps to hold them. Then a little hairspray, and there you have it! Use another mirror to see the back too, and section your hair with a clip. I hope this is what your looking for.x =]
You can use these soft, squishy rollers. You just put them in your hair, then sleep or hang out with them on. They aren't hot, and you just roll your hair in them, clip it in place with these built in like clippy things, and when you take it out BOOM! Curly hair. I think u can get them at most drug stores or places like Sally's

Here are some pics of wht they look like:

you could use hot rollers or a flat iron
Use a straigtner its much better nd easier.
it might sound ghetto but no lie u can use straws

u jus roll dem in ur hair while its damp and pin it at da

bottom and top with bobby pins and spray it wif hair spray

then u can take a diffuser n dry it or jus let it dry naturally
you can use a flat iron, or you can put your hair in braids and then after a couple of hours take them out, or you can use curlers, they are wire covered in sponge that you put in your hair, and keep them in for a couple of hours and take them out and your hair will be curly. Just remember to use hairspray to keep the curls! Hope this helped!! :)
Buy ';herbal essences tossle me softly'; (purple bottle) its a scrunch mouse. Okay when you get out of the shower brush your hair back (don't make a part with the brush), then with your hand kinda mess with it and form your part with your hands, but make sure your hair is still back. So then dry your hair with a blow dryer about 70-80% dry, while playing with it and scrunching it with your hands. Then take the herbal essences and flip your head over (if you want) and just put some of it all throughout your hair, then dry it for about 3 minutes, not all the way dry though. (To the point where you like the curls) Then take a hairspray and spray your hair a bit, NOT a lot cause you want it to be loose not stiff. Then let it dry. OR

What are some ways to curl long hair (a few inches past the shoulder) without using curlers or a curling iron?

I can scrunch my hair and make it cute.. and I have used a chi flat iron to curl it under... but if I try to curl it any other way with the chi it looks wrong... I want big lose curls. I heard that there is a way to curl ur hair with large socks... but I dunno how that would work? I dont have any hot curlers and want to avoid buying them if I dont need to.... any ideas anyone? What are some ways to curl long hair (a few inches past the shoulder) without using curlers or a curling iron?
When your hair is damp from washing, blow dry the top part (that you don't want curled), take a large round or cushion brush, and comb thru your hair, and where you want it to start curling, twist the brush and blow dry against it. It will create very large curls that are very soft.

The only way I know of to curl with socks, I haven't done it for years, and it didn't work all that well, but you take a long tube sock, about the same length as what you want to curl. with your hair damp from washing, comb thru it till it's all uniform, and lay strips of hair on a sock lengthwise, with the toe at the end of your hair. roll from the toe upward, and when you get to the top of the sock, you pull the band down and around the rest of it, sort of like how you fold them, wrap itself around it . Do that to your whole head of hair, could take 10 or so socks, and then with a hot blow dryer, hold the air on each one for at least 1 and a half minutes ,to get it hot, and to dry your hair. when done with the blow dryer, leave socks on for at leat 10 minutes without moving to let the curl set. gently, unroll each one, and apply a finishing spray to your curls, to keep them from straigtening.

Good luck!! :)What are some ways to curl long hair (a few inches past the shoulder) without using curlers or a curling iron?
Try pulling it up towards the top of your head into a ponytail then finger roll it into one big curl then pin/clip it into place for a few hours. I even dampen 2-3 inches of the ends for a longer lasting curl. It also helps to elimatnate frizzies.
I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW YOU CAN CURL YOUR HAIR WITHOUT A DEVICE. CURIOUS TO SEE THE ANSWERS!
ok after u get out of the shower towel dry but not all the way when it is damp put some curling mousse or gel in ur hair and get even strands or different sizes depending on what u want twist ur hiar then pin up each strand with a bobby pin then twirl it up 2 the top of ur head when all of ur hair is done blow dry ur hair with a diffuser or a regular blow dryer(diffuser will work better) then when its dried take out the bobby pins then voila
use bendy rollers, you can leave them in over night and wont harm your hair or you could use straightners
Well heres what you do. Wash your hair well and towel dry thoroughly. Then blow dry to get a little bit of the excess moisture out. Add some mousse or light gel, then brush your hair and divide it into sections, enough sections so that you can take one section and twist it tight and pin it to your head. The twist will make it so that when you take it down it looks wavy and curly, very cute by the way! Keep doing this until your hair is all pinned up and twisted to make loose curly waves. I do this alot when I am bored and it looks really cute and natural when your done! Let me know if it works for you!
You can curl your hair by using rollers and doing a roller set. Spritz your hair, and take the rollers out. I always curl my hair with rollers and it turns out great. For more tips on curling your hair visit this site.

How do I curl my hair with a curling iron, without frizz?

My hair is wet right now, and I need to know what to do. Any suggestions? How do I curl my hair with a curling iron, without frizz?
Straighten it, wait a day, use hair moisturizer, then curl it, then use hairspray. How do I curl my hair with a curling iron, without frizz?
Ive sorta learned the hard way to never curl my hair while it is wet. The heat combined with liquid will Burn your hair. If you see steam coming from the curling iron it usually means that the heat is turned up too high. Well if you have pin straight hair like me, you might want to use volumizing muse. Blow dry your hair thoroughly then spray some anti- frizz spray made by Threasa-May. Take one piece of your hair and curl your hair by folding the curling iron under your hair. Let it sit there for 10 seconds. Remember on your free time practice your soon come up with your own method.

YES it might even look better in the morning! I curled my hair one night for a party, then the next morning they were looser and more wavy, it actually looked great! but yes, use a good hairspray and bobby pin the curls to your head before you go to bed. you may have to touch up in the morning but that should only take 2 minutes. If i curl my hair tonight with a curling iron how can i get it to stay untill the morning?
You're gonna need to touch it up tomarrow morning, but....

use bobby pins and pin the curls to your head. Itll look a little weird, but then in the morning the curls wont be frizzy or anything. Exactly like you left em! :)
    Hairspray it LOADS

get it done at the hair solan or wet it first and hold it for like 15 secs and while u do that get the pantene hair crunching spray. My hair doesn't like to curl. what are some tips on curling my hair with my curling iron?
Spray a strand of hair with hairspray first and than curl it. 100%
use about 1/4 inch of hair at a time. start at the base of your hair (close to your scalp) and glide the iron down. when you get to the bottom, roll up with the iron and leave it there for a few seconds. finally release. if it still doesnt work, try rollers or a perm.
use curling shampoo and all the products you can use on your hair. then tonight get strips of cloth and twist pieces of hair with the cloth, pin it up, hair spray it, put a shower cap on your head and go to bed, when you wake up, take off the shower cap, and blow dry your hair with the twisted hair on hot, after that, take it out and you should have perfect curls.
Use a jell type hair product that has extra hold (or something like it on the bottle)and roll your hair(try an find hair rollers they work best).Top off with a lite layer of hair spray.
get some moose dampen your hair put the moose through it and blow dry it till its wavy then curl it
I suggest using a thermal setting spray on each section prior to curling it. Redken Hot Sets is a product I swear by.
You can put hairspray in your hair first. That always works for me because I have the same problem with my hair.
My hair is really stubborn too......I usually hairspray the peice of hair i am going to curl right before I curl it. I usually works for me. Just make sure that you dont hairspray the hair too much and make it stick straight out and then look like its dirty.
My hair does that! I saw this infomercial about a curling iron/straightner that was, like, clay or something and they did a test on a girls hair , and her hair NEVER curls, and it curled
Go easy with that iron I think they are too harsh on hair and will leave it all dried and damaged if you use it too much. Couldn't you get some bendy rollers and wash your hair and when it is still slightly damp curl it up with the rollers and leave it to dry. If you have no bendy rollers you could do it the oldfashioned way 'till you get some. Tear an old pillocase or any light cloth (maybe Jcloths would do) .Tear into strips about the width of a folder and about 5cms wide .Take a piece of dampish hair and place the ends in the center of the strip of cloth and roll it up just like a bendy roller and tie the two pieces of cloth together to hold the curl there. When dry undo and run your fingers through it .If it turns out iffy you can just wash again to be back as you were. Use less hair in the curlup for tighter curls and more hair in curlup for wave effect. Have fun.

well, if u straiten ur hair b4 this activity, im sure itll work!!! B cause i have natural straight- light waves hair. Or if u take a shower, and straighten it, that couldd also work!

    1. Gather or buy a pack 0f 70-100 clothespins, or large curlers, the more hair, the more clothespins/ the larger the curlers.

    2. take a small section or strand of hair, open up the clothespin, and wrap it around on either side of the pin. once ur finished, clip the end together.

    3. finish with all the sections.

    4. Take a blow dryer, and blow dry all the sections evenly for a few seconds, or until the strand is dry.

    5. Take all the pins out, the hairspray, if necessary. How to curl naturally curly hair with a curling iron?
It would be counter productive for you to straighten and then curl your hair. You can use the same method to curl your hair as if it were straight. Take a small section and brush it out then take your curling iron and curl your hair to the desired shape.

wat works really well for me is after u wash ur hair, blowdry it normally and then seperate ur hair into a few sections and make buns (leah from star wars style) the smaller the buns the curlier ur hair will be.. i do around 4 and it makes my hair nicely wavey..if you want it to be curlier try 4-8.. then leave it overnight and in the morning just run ur fingers through ur hair and for a wet effect THEN scrunch ur hair with mousse and apply hairspray..im telling u u'll love the look! hope i helped! good luck!I Want To Curl My Hair Myself Without A Curling Iron?
You should just wash your hair, slightly dry it, then scrunch it up and tight it with a few hairties into a ';bun';. Hairdry it some more, and then leave it to dry naturall fro a few hours.

When you take it out, hairspray it. dont use mousse, it makes the curls drop.
try taking a shower with the new john frieda collection (friz ease in curly both the shampoo and conditioner) then spray any curling spray in your hair(try garnier frutise curl shaping gel) then go to sleep with all of your hair under your head. it ends up wavy/cury
buy shampoo at walmart it states on the bottle curling shampoo it will give soft curls after washed and blowed dried on med. setting so it doesnt friz scrunch as you dry.
    but...just use ur fingers
I can't recall the name of the product, but there are bendable rubbery curlers that come in a pouch/purse type bag. You plug the bag into the outlet %26amp; the rubbery bendable thingys get hot %26amp; then you start at the bottom of your hair %26amp; roll it up. You make it tighter or looser depending on the curl you want.
i have got curly hair %26amp; know how difficult it is 2 manage it. ya but da advntage is dat it luks really cool. i don't think u shud use a blow dryer as it can terribly damage ur hair. rather go for steam curlers. aftr u curl ur hair ,use lots of hair spray 2 maintain da curls.
I have natural curly hair so I don't have that problem. I have a friend who does, and she uses curlers. She washes her hair applies mouse and then wraps it in curlers and allows it to dry. She then applies lots of hairspray to make it hold. You may want to try a curling shampoo also. If all else fails get a perm. Good luck!
Hi! So you are wanting curl. Do you have naural curl or wave in your hair? If so, apply mousse and medium hold gel. Use a finger diffuser. You need to use the one that looks like a huge cone. It has little plastic ';fingers'; inside of it. On towel dried hair, use high heat, low speed fan on your blow dryer and lay the hair inside of the diffuser. Continue to do this all over the head until it is 90 percent dry. Once it is 90 percent dry, allow the rest to air dry. You will have beautiful curl, with no frizz. REMEMBER, this will only work if you have NATURAL CURL, BODY, OR A PERM.

If your hair is naturally straight, you will have to use heat. Heat and chemicals are the only ways to get curl into the hair if it is straight. You can always use a curling iron, but since you do not want to use one, you can always use hot rollers. This will give you the big bouncy curls....(think Sarah Jessica Parker) You can always wet your hair down, apply a setting lotion and roll your hair on plastic ';slick'; rollers. Personally, I would use hot rollers if you have longer hair. For short hair, the easiest way would be a curling iron!

    Hope this helps!
Well,I think you should put gell in it(hair gell).or you could take fabric and wrap it up over sponges and sow it shut. Then after you wash your hair that night put a little gell and dry it and take little bits of hair wrap it up in the sponges and tie it and sleep in them over night in the morning your hair will be curly!or you can buy a curling iron.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca3k1syt2...

It really works! Try it! :)
    Hey,

i'm not sure if you'll have these products in the US but if you do they are great. I have naturally slightly wavy prone to frizz long thick hair, my mum has beautiful curls, i could never achieve that look with a curling iron or rollers it would simply drop out, i tried countless products. I now use Toni %26amp; Guy curl balm and beach curl spray, shower, wash and condition hair apply liberal amounts of balm after towel drying and an even spray of beach curl spray then leave to dry naturally, my curls are great now if you want tighter curls tip your head upside down and ruffle a bit, if you like looser summery curls just leave to dry, this is minimum effort. My curls even stay if i sleep on them! The products are around æ‹¢6 each but totally worth it, they last a couple of months or so and i have a lot of hair, so would probably last longer for most. Boots is the most easily accessible stockist and they often have 3 for 2 offers on the whole range!

How do you curl your hair if its uneven and short with a brush curling iron?

can you help me please!! : )

my hair is short and uneven and i reali want to curl it!

please help! How do you curl your hair if its uneven and short with a brush curling iron?
You shouldn't put an iron to your hair too much, or else the ends will break off. But the best solution to curling your hair and having it stay is using a curling straightener, a straightener with curved edges. They work great, and a lot of the time much better than curling irons. They have a better hold, and after you curl your hair, spray it as much as you can without it being hard and sticky. Short hair is fragile, so be careful, but the straightening/curling iron would be the best solution :)

How do I curl my hair without flat irons or curling iron?

Okay, so i really want to curl my hair without heat(I am okay with hairdryers though). It's really hard. I don't want to sleep in uncomfortable things in my hair( if it's not uncomfortable then i accept ). I just want something quick like 2-3 hours. Just nothing over 5 hours. Please help!!!!!How do I curl my hair without flat irons or curling iron?
if you braid hair while damp and leave overnight they will leave your hair wavyHow do I curl my hair without flat irons or curling iron?
If you do braids all around your hair, like maybe 10, depending on how thick it is, and leave it in over night, it will give it the crimped looked. And if you add moose, before you do it, it will stop it from being wavy.

Another idea is for when you first get out of the shower.

You can put some moose in your hair, like your gonna scrunch it, but not too much. then gather it all together at the middle of the back of your head. you could use some small clips, so you wouldnt even feel them while you sleep, or you could use a hair scruchie. as long as its all together, in a bun type form. Then you can either sleep on it, or wait for it to dry. Once you take it down it will be curly. This is opposed to just crunching your hair. Scrunching your hair gives it the wet stick gelled hair. This is much more cuter.
first, start with damp hair, add your favorite styling gel or mousse. now section your hair into three horizontal sections, making sure the bottom section is the thickest part. twist the top section from the right gradually adding pieces as you go. twist the section into a bun and secure with an elastic. do the same with the other sections. spray your hair lightly with hairspray. blow dry until the outside if the bun and twist is dry to the touch. spray again for hold. undo the bun and let the curls fall in place.blow dry again.
as for curling it think twice about a curling iron, I'd use a flat iron just because its better for you hair, its quicker and easier.

Try this tutorial out so you can see what I''m talking about:

How do you curl the very top part of your hair with a curling iron?

i think it would work better if you do it with a straightning iron look at this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovXNz1il2 fast foward and wait till she curls her hair
Yes take it over direct it. place comb at root to keep from burning your scalp and roll it down. Layers will help as well.

    Robert Curtis (stylist)
Yes there is a way! :D

The ';Barrel'; curling Iron is the best for this job!

However, if you have a regular curling iron with the clamp then this is what you will want to do. ( lets see if i can explain this...)

-Use your curling iron and wrap the piece of hair around it as if you were using a barrel curling iron. When you do this make sure you move the clamp ( i know you cant remove the clamp, but push the lever to that the clamp away from the iron) Careful not to burn your self!

Kinda hard to explain this one, In this case it's easier done than said! lol

In all simplicity, just use your regular curling iron as if it were a ';barrel'; curling iron and you can achieve these curls from scalp to ends...I do it all the time!

    Best of Luck!

I might not be your skill. It is most likely your iron. I used to have the same problem until I realized I needed a higher temperature than my previous iron had. I also use a spiral iron instead of a normal curling iron. It really made a difference. Good luck. How do you curl your hair with a curling iron?

If you have a hairdryer, when you are drying your hair, use a round brush and curl your hair into it while running the dryer over that area. Just keep flipping it, and it usually works. If you don't have a round brush, you can pick one up at the dollar store. Real cheap. How to curl hair without plaiting, curling iron or straightner?
leave your hair curled outside the toilet roll. leave it overnight. i guess...
Use a diffuser. You can also braid your hair when wet, then sleep with the braids in and your hair will be wavy/curly. You can also section your hair in tiny buns and twist and pin while wet and then sleep and wake up with it dry and curly!
get your hairspray or sum type of holding product n seperate strands of hair....(dont over do the product, or itll be stiff)

take the strand of hair and and bring it round n round until it looks like acircle on your head, keep in place with a bobby pin....precede to doing the other strands.....let sit as long as you think itll take for the waves/curls to stay in (2 hrs approx.)

    the bast thing to dooo

is use your natruall curly hair and put mouse on and leav to dri by it sel x
Use tissues. roll three or four tissues diagonally. Take a well combed and smoothened section of your hair. roll hair tightly around the middle of the rolled up tissue. tie ends of tissue to secure it. go to the next section of hair. Leave it in for a couple of hours if you don't have a hairdrier or overnight. undo the ties and run your fingers through the curls or use a wide-tooth comb to style

have you tried curl infusing mouse first? They sell that stuff. My hair won't hold a curl, but using that it gets kind of wavy. GLI use hot curlers to curl my hair.. but even when I curl it with a curling iron my hair always falls flat?
sounds like your hair is baby fine. you need to use products for fine hair.
put a little bit of jel before putting curling iron or spray on your hair before putting curling iron
i hear you are supposed to use hair that has not been washed in 24 hours, somehow the natural oils help keep curls locked in, fresh clean hair is actually stripped clean and doesn't cooperate with hair products so well.
put gel in it and make it ';dirty'; with hairspray before you put them in.

or get Sally's cool new curlers. they work really good
    Me too!

    I have the same problem!

When I use any iron, I hairspray my hair LIGHTLY with

not-so-strong hairspray. Then, I curl my hair like normal,

and when I'm done, I hairspray it all over again.

((Before I do this, I take a shower with Herbal Essences body

shampoo and conditioner (I don't know what it is called) and after,

I put in their mousse and blow dry as normal))
you should try rollers overnight (have shower first) If u put curlers in put jell in first and mabye hairspray after, but NO hairspray before.
my friend maria is like you.

try shaking gel into your hair after a shower.
wait a day after washing it, DON'T condition it, and put in a tiny bit of spray in before you curl it, and lots afterwards..

    hope i helped! x
curl each strand of hair, then spray the one strand at a time.

When i curl my hair with a curling iron, its not very curly?

my hairs super straight, and when i curl it, its not very curly. the curling irons thin. how to get curlier hair? and how long should i hold each piece? how thick of a peice should i curl at a time? thanks in advanced! When i curl my hair with a curling iron, its not very curly?
i have straight hair too what i do is pin hair up in sections

-clip up hair at top of your head and work with it starting from bottom to top.

-get a small portion of hair starting at the bottom

-curl it with curling iron then spray with hairspray to hold

    -hold for 25 seconds

you should get curls this way, then just repeat until all your hair is curled. When i curl my hair with a curling iron, its not very curly?
Naturally straight hair doesn't curl very well, and it's easier to damage. I suggest that if you want to curl your hair, wash it the night before, dry it and put sponge rollers in, then sleep with them. When you take them out in the morning, run your fingers through your hair and put on a bit of hair spray. It's not the comfiest to sleep with but the curls do stay in!

    Good luck!
use 1 inch or less sized sections hold it for 10 seconds.

and spray hairspray on your hair while its on the culer to get it to hold its shape.

    trust me it works.
Hey curling hair properly can be tedious as you need to take small sections, try spraying the section of hair with hairspray before curling as this will not only help hold the curl but also protect the hair from the heat also waving irons are good as you use this like crimpers and they give a wavy curl.
wow ok... maybe you should try switching ur curling iron. and if the one you currently have has different heat settings try a higher setting. i don't think a thin curling iron is best but if you cant get another right now, you just have to work with smaller pieces of hair. and you should hold it for about ten seconds if that much whatever works to get the curl everyones hair is different.

another thing is try plugging in the curling iron a little while before your ready to use it, and in between pieces let it heat back up. and when you curl a piece pin it up with a bobby pin until you done your entire head, let them cool for a little while and then pull the pins out. you could also try buying a product that enhances curls. and... you could try roller setting your hair or use spirals. i hope something works for you, good luck.

my hair was the same way when i was younger, curls were impossible.. but my grandmother told me (and as weird as this may sound), that beer works, it makes the curls stay in. just put some on the piece of hair that you're going to curl and then some hairspray and that should work.
Try using a spiral curling iron. I included a picture of the one I have below. It works really well. I think it was only 15-30 bucks?

Wrap sections of your hair into tiny ringlets and hold with pins. Sleep with them in, then your hair will be curly in the morning. Another option, scrunch?
you could braid it but it would be more crimped than curly or you could wet it then just roll it around your finger
If you have a straightener that has ceramic plates it will work great for curling your hair with out damaging it. For more instructions on that just search it on youtube and you get step by step instructions.

Take the dry hair in sections (about 1 inch) and wrap it around the outside of the curling iron- loosely. Do not use the clamp or you get really tight curls with a bump where the clamp was.

Spray with a movable hair spray (I like Aussie) and allow the spray to dry. After each section is done- finger style the curls lightly for bouncy luscious locks!

I'm assuming your hair curls naturally (at least a little) or else you will have to try something else!HELP* Hey can anyone give me tips on how to curl hair with a curling iron and make the curls bouncy?
ok, take some agave nectar or honey if you dont have it and soak your hair in it ( the natural sugars will soak in your hair. this will not make it sticky, it will just create a natural healthyness in your hair so when you curl it it will curl easily) after you rinse the honey out (before you curl it) spray leave in conditioner (preferably John Frida frizz ease brand) and then wash your hair again (but no shampoo or conditioner, just water) then spray the conditioner in again and dry it and curl it!

    It worked for me!
you need a large curling iron and something that will hold the curls in place like spray starch by redken. secton spray comb and curl. when you are finished you need hairspray adn then run your fingers through gently
curl the hair on the iron and while the iron is in your hair wrap the hair completely around it, spray spritz on the hair and remove the iron keeping the curl in the round shape and clip it into a pin curl, do this to your whole head leave in for about half an hour, then take it down and style as you wish

Scrunching is when you scrunch your hair when it is wet to make waves :) It works better with curly/wavy hair but not well for my naturally straight hair ):

I try this and it is just as good as using a curling/flat iron. The waves turn out really pretty!! No heat all you need is hair ties and maybe hair spray %26lt;3

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2ZNsudkM
scrunching hair is getting gel/ hairspray and well...scrunching it with your hands to make in wave. what i do is when my hair is wet poof it then finger comb get through and twist it into 2 buns on each side of head. then take out when 98% dry and lightly spray hairspray(hairspray optional) and it should come out with a spiral curl=)
Scrunching is using mousse and rubbing it in your hands then scrunch it in wet hair. To scrunch you basically take your hands and squish your hair and hold in for a few seconds. Sometimes I blow dry my hair and then put it up in rollers to cool for like 20 mins. They aren't perfect spirals but more like soft waves. Hope I helped!
well you can go to the hair dresser and have them wash your hair and put rollers in it and sit you up under the dryer and and wen your hair is dry it is curled so... and its even better because you dont have to use as much heat in it......-_-
Well I cant really help since my hair is naturally curly, so when it comes into contact with water it's curly. My friend has wavy/straight hair and she washes her hair and uses moose (however u spell that) then she puts her up in a messy bun and lets it loose sometime later
    Have you ever tried curlers.

i use them with a little bih of

hair spray and it works pretty well,

i guess it depends on your hair,

    but its worth trying..
you can rod it while its wet or use magnetic rollers and sit under a dryer.

curl it with a flat iron. (there are tutorials on youtube).

hope it helps :)How can I curl my Hair with no curling iron?
Use a round brush and a blow dryer on the hottest setting, while slowly twisting the brush around your hair. Do it while your hair is still a little damp though, it stays put longer.
Separate it into sections and put them into little buns, and when you take them out you'll have perfect curls. Bigger buns = bigger curls, smaller buns = smaller curls.
Okay my little sister has really straight hair, so I take her hair and in little sections wrap it up like twist it in a little ball and she sleeps on it. in the morning we take it down and it's supper curly.
do a wet set. Let someone roll your hair up in rollers, then use a blow dryer all over it or get under a dryer if you have one, let it sit for a couple hours, and you should be good!
if you have a flat iron then you could curl it with that,

or when your hair is damp or towel dried you can part

your hair in two parts then twist each part, and hold it

twisted while you are blowdrying it, the curls will be

really nice and loose, not crunchy :)

(i tried this yesterday and loved how it came out)
A great idea if you have them is foam rollers! if you sleep in them and take them out in the morning your hair will look really nice. I'm assuming that you are wanting it curly for tomorrow because I don't know why you would need curly hair at ten o clock on a Tuesday. If not, ';scrunching'; your hair might work as well. Just take a bit of gel or mousse and squeeze it upwards into your hair while it is wet.
Take very tiny sections of hair and twist each section until it lays on ur head then Bobby pin it to ur head do this with all the hair u want curly then sleep on if ur hair is wet dry partialy before sleeping on it

Take a flat iron and a piece of hair (1';) and put the flat iron the the root of chunk of hair and twist till the chunk of hair falls horizontal. then pull down and release. Look it up on youtube. Just type in 'how to curl hair with a straightener' and you'll learn how. Then spray hair. Curls can stay 3-4 days. TIP: do not put any product in your hair before curling.
Some straightners curl. But i think your talking about thing known as ';scrunching'; this is what i do when i scrunch my hair: after i get outta the shower i use curling/scrunching gell and scrunch my hair then i hairspray it and let it dry. here is a video tutorial if u didntt quit understand what i meant.

you can curl it with a flat iron (what i do) or when it is wet/damp scrunch it with gel, the gel i recommend is aussie, what my friend uses. it works very well on her hair.

How can i curl my hair with a curling iron with out the curls getting loose?

okay i have thick hair. and i have 3 kinds of curling irons. one small, the next is like middle sized, and the last is big. my question is how can i curl my hair with our the curls coming loose and which one should i use. i want my hair to look like miley cyrus' when its curly....How can i curl my hair with a curling iron with out the curls getting loose?
Ok, to answer which iron to use, just keep in mind the smaller the iron the tighter the curls. So if you're aiming for bigger, looser, curls use the big one and if you're looking for smaller, tighter curls use the small one.

In order to get the curls to stay, after curling use hair spray to keep them locked into place, or you can use a gel. If you use the gel just scrunch the curl with the gel in your hand.

Either of those should work, try both to see which works best for your hair :)How can i curl my hair with a curling iron with out the curls getting loose?
use the medium one and spray hairspray on your hair when you are holding it in the curling iron. However, you might want to try curling it with a flat iron because you can ge the same kinds of curls and i hear they are tighter and hold longer than when you use a curling iron.
the tiny curling irons make the curls tight

the bigger ones are for loose curls
curl your hair with whichever gives u the best curls and use hairspray

How do you curl straight hair with a curling iron?

i have a curling iron but i don't know how to use it. i need my hair to be curled for grad. plz help! How do you curl straight hair with a curling iron?
I could go through a lengthy explanation, but instead:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nqEfr5GX

I thought this was a nice grad look and easy to do. A few tips:

1)Work with the rest of your hair before adding the ends into the curler to do less damage. Or, you can just not curl the ends at all for a more natural, less ';done'; look.

2)If you have fine, very soft or virgin hair you can ';rough up'; your hair a little bit with some spray wax or surf spray to hold the style better. Spray it on each section rather than all at once

3)alternate the direction of each curl or you will end up forming one big ';sausage'; curl

    4) preheat the hair by running the curling iron through it twice before actually curling it

    5) the best way to ruin your curls is by using too much/too strong hairspray! Use a light hold and spray by picking up sections and spraying the scalp rather than the whole head. And don't use ANY hairspray until you are satisfied with the end results

You should try curling rolls instead because the results with curling iron may be just half-curled hair.

For curling rolls, you roll your hair(your mom probably knows) and leave it out for 3-6 hours and get an amazing and firmly done hair.

If not, the curling iron should be used with the iron left to be hot for 5 minutes and then take some hair(but not too much) and roll it upwards. If you'd like, you can take hair vitaliser gels or spray and then curl it with a curling iron, just to protect your hair.
ok so i have straight hair too. just make sure your hair is brushed out and dry. then you separate the hair into many strands that aren't too thick, but aren't too thin. and then you turn the iron on. it should take like 5 minutes for it to be really hot.

make sure not to touch the metal. it'll hurt. lol

then open the curling iron and put the hair (strand) into it (the bottom of your hair) then close it and wrap the rest of the hair around it until you reach the roots of the hair. hold it there for like 5 minutes (depending on how long your hair is). youll know when it is done when your head feels really hot (the hair). unwrap the hair and open the iron. let the hair fly loose :)

you may wanna brush it, but that may take the curls away so be careful with that.

Look up ';hair curling'; on youtube. Its the first video.

its very simple but if ur hair is very thin or damaged first put in a heating serum

1.Part your hair into 4 different sections (top-left,top-right,bottom left, bottome right) Start with one of the bottom sections but dont forget to pin the other sections to your head.

    2. take a thin piece of hair from that pile and put it into the curler(btw the curler should be heated for atleast 15 mins before starting) run the curler to the end of hair and roll up.

    - wait for about 10 seconds ( counting aloud helps) then place you curler vertically with the handle on the bottom and slowly release the hair

    3. After doing your whole head take a wide-toothed comb(but a pic is better) to loosen them if you want and then spray with hairspray

    4. I forgot to mention if you want tight curls use a thinner curler, if you want bigger looser curls use a thicker curler
watch this, it works; i tried it yesterday.

Whats a way to curl my hair without using a curling iron?

i want to wake up with curly hair tomorrow but don't have time for an iron. my hairs wet. but gel %26amp; spray doesn't work cause my hairs too thick. %26amp; wrapping it in a bun don't work either..

please give me ideas on how to curl my wet hair without using a curling iron...

thankss! %26lt;3Whats a way to curl my hair without using a curling iron?
    use bobby pins

Twist strands of your hair (the thicker the strand, the looser the curl) until you can even see the twisting at the roots

Wrap the strand around (on your scalp) into a little circle, then pin it down with 2 bobby pins, criss-crossing each other.(Note: You do not have to wrap it into little buns. Just find a way to pin it to your head while keeping it twisted)

Repeat for all your hair. You'll end up with many tiny little twists.

Sleep on it. It may help to wear a bandanna so that the buns don't come undone. In the morning, undo all of them and finger tousle very well. (Note: You don't have to sleep on it if you are pressed for time. If your hair is only damp when you start this process, just let them dry by air or blow dry them on a cool setting. It may take a while, but if you don't have overnight it works fine.)Whats a way to curl my hair without using a curling iron?
    Soak it in acid
What I usually do is put some gel in my hair then put it into two French braids and keep them in over night.

When I take out the french braids the next morning my hair has lovely curls and a lot of body.
u could scrunch it or get a perm...
oh I have thick hair too and its long. What i do is dry my hair completely dry .Bone dry! Then i put curlers in like the kind grandparents use. Then i wake up and take the curlers out and its curly. also hairspray, hairspray is your BFF.
yeah use grandma rollers. if you want to invest in a hair dryer used at salon and set your hair while wet.

How can a curl my hair without a curling iron?

I'm a guy with medium length wavy hair , and i just want to encourage those curls, do you know anyways to do that without a curling iron? How can a curl my hair without a curling iron?
You can always use a flat iron to curl your hair as well. If you don't have that or don't want to use it, you can also just get a curl boosting shampoo or lotions to put into your hair. How can a curl my hair without a curling iron?
Ok, so what you do is you take a shower and then you take mouse and you scrunch your hair. If you don't know how, go on youtube and type in how to use mousse. I've been doing it for 2 months, and it looks great.
Since you have wavy hair, you can get decent results from using products for curly hair.

';Curl'; products will encourage the wave in your hair to curl up.

You can just scrunch them into wet hair and let your hair air dry.

Putting a diffuser on your blowdryer would work even better and give you more curl. It only takes a few minutes!

Catwalk curl products have great results and it would be worth the investment since you can use less product, get better results and save time struggling to get your hair to do what you want it to do.

Get a shampoo, conditioner and styling product for curls.

If you want really tight curls, you can get foam rollers made by Conair, sold at Walmart.

After you wash your hair, put in a curling styling product, then put the rollers in your wet hair. Sleep with them in, and remove them in the morning. It's a time consuming process, but the results will last until your next shampoo.

How to curl my hair without a curling iron or rollers?

The best way because my hair is getting fried with a curling iron. How to curl my hair without a curling iron or rollers?
You can use spray that keeps your hair still and curl with your fingers.

    Here's how:

    You need:

    Hair Spray

    Your fingers

    Instructions:

    1. Spray ALL of your hair ( try not to leave any hair unsprayed)

    2. Curl your hair with your fingers. This may work. Might not work for very thick hair but you can try.

    3. Add clips and other things! This will make you look fab!

    4. If this doesn't work, try using a lot of spray. If using a lot of spray doesn't work either than try using small curlers. I don't like using them but it WILL work. Also, you can buy some thick clips and curl them up iin your hair. If you do that then buy some more clips and let them hold your curls up.

    5. Take the clips out after about 3 to five hours.

    6. Look beautifulHow to curl my hair without a curling iron or rollers?
    use ur fingers
    I am a man.
Why not use rollers then? Try wrapping your fair around your finger or some clothes pins and using hair spray.
braid when its wet and then leavve it in overnight
you can curl your hair around your finger and spray hairspray on it.
use a balm or some kind of product that protects your hair when you use heating items

make sure you cut off any split ends first

i like straight hair so i use redken ultra straight balm and i can tell an obvious difference

    good luck!
for the night make a braid and leave it when you go to sleep. then that next morning you have beautiful wavy curly hair!
if its long then plait it really tight when its wet, leave it to dry and it will be really wavy but not curly.
Try pin curls...I'm not sure on how to explain it, so i'll look for a link telling you how to do them...
plat your hair and leave it in for a day or 2 then unplat it -the curls will look really nice and natural (it works for me!)
Ig you have naturally curly hair, your lucky.

I have naturally curly hair, so the only thing I do to make my hair look like it was styled by a curling iron is:

    - Shampoo

    -Condition

    - Dry it for a bit

    - Put some frizz free oil, and put it all over my hair

    - comb

    - put a handful of mousse, and cover it all over my head

If you have a straightener, that works too.

    Hope I helped!

take ur sticks of hairs and roll it on ur finger and wait for sometime and it will get curl
    Instructions For Using Hot Rollers

Creating spiral curls using hot rollers involves the following basic steps:

Section hair into small triangular sections that range in size from 1 to 2 inches. Keep in mind that the smaller the section, the tighter the curls.

Roll the curlers starting at the nape of the neck and work upwards towards the crown of the head.

Note: If your ends are damaged either apply a pomade or other protective styling product to protect the ends. If you prefer you can also experiment with using end papers. If you use end papers, make sure not to overlap the tresses.

Secure the hot roller against your scalp as tightly as possible.

Once the entire head has been curled, let rollers completely cool.

Remove rollers one at a time. After the hair is removed from the roller, use your fingers to form a spiral curl, spray with hairspray and then pin the reformed spiral curl against your scalp.

When you have finished removing all your curlers and have finished pinning them to your head, let them set for at least one hour.

Right before leaving the house remove the pins and use only fingers to carefully arrange curls in the desired pattern.

Spray entire head with light hairspray to allow curls to bounce and move.

Note: You may choose not to roll your entire head in spiral curlers. You may want to curl the bangs and the very top of the hair separately with a curling iron to avoid an ';overly curled'; look..

Do not use a brush or comb on the spiral curls. To get extra lift you can use a curling iron to carefully lift the base of the top curls.
take your finger nd twist your hair tightly on your finger.it works for me.keep it on your finger for a while.
if you want like ringlet curls

then scrunch some moose into your hair when its wet

    and use bobby pins!

like twist your hair into small coils and then bobby pin into place

spray with a tiny bit of hairspray and do the rest of your hair

then you can just let it air dry or do it at night so your hairs dry by the morning!

take out the pins and like mess it up a bit with your fingers

works on my hair anyways (:
    heyy

    i would try schrunching or if that doesnt work this is what i do;

    1) i take a shower and let my hair dry a little(until its damp)

2)i put it in a low bun and sleep with it in

    3) next i wake up in the moring and take the bun out and then i take my straightner and curl the peices that are straight

    hope this helps!

seeing that you just ommited many modern marvels, I could only suggest some old time remedies. Paper bags, cut into strips. LOL. I was at a friends house yesterday and she had an issue of cosmo girls that had a list of ways to curl your hair without gadgets.
I have a hair fetish, I will curl your hair..
Brown paper bag, rolled and twist both ends to lock.(cut /tear bag to make the paper-rollers).works wonders.
what you have to curl your hair with those things without it you can't curl your hair sorry.

First of all take a good long breath. Finding the right way to curl your hair isn't easy. To get big round curls, you don't have much choice but the curling iron or curlers. How ever if you just want really pretty curly hair with curls that aren't really big or perfect spirals. I can help you. :)

1.Take a bath or shower , wash your hair

    2. Rub hair with a towel, not vigorously, but just enough to get it so that it is not dripping wet.

3.Put in whatever gels or de frizzers you might use. If you dont use anything you are going to need to use a gel or a creme that helps to enhance curls.they usually works well with this.

    4. Twist your hair into a very tight bun on top of your head. You may want to do more than one bun if you have thich hair or if you just have a lot of hair.

    5. Let the bun(s) dry COMPLETELY (it could take up to like 6-7 hours)

    6. Put hairsray in your hair so that the curls will hold for a long time.

Tips: Sleeping in the buns arn't comforatable but if you put them at the top of your head, They wont be bad.

    Happy Curling! Hope I helped!
