How do you curl hair with curling iron and curling gel?

I have a curling iron and I just bought ';Loreal Paris curl power'; curling gel. I dont really know the steps to using the curling gel. Do you wash your hair first, then use the gel, then curl with curling iron? Or do you use it after you curl? When is it necessary to blow dry for max. curls? My hair straightens out really easily, so i want a way to make them stay intact. PLEASE HELP! THANKS!How do you curl hair with curling iron and curling gel?
That curling gel is for Naturally Curly or permed hair(Any type of 'Curling' Gel is for naturally curly hair, which is suppose to Bring out the curl.)

To Curl your hair with a Curling Iron:

Take a Section of your hair, Put the curling Iron on the hair, then slide down half way. Roll it halfway, Slide it down a little, Roll it halfway again, Slide it down. Keep doing that intill all the hair is rolled(At the end you may have to wrap the piece of hair around yourself, and roll it to the root.). Spray the hair with hairspray and leave it for a few seconds, Then just loose up the plates, and pull out of the hair. Then Spray the hair with hairspray again.

Make sure the hairspray is superhold. How do you curl hair with curling iron and curling gel?
Im pretty sure curling gel is for people with already curly hair.

To make your curls last longer get a good hairspray from your salon and purchase a curling iron that gets really hot. The ones sold at Target and Wal Mart dont get hot enough. My fave brand is Hot Tools.

Hope this helps.
