If you use 2 different size irons it will give a more natural effect. Use a curl locking mist in each section before applying heat to keep the curl from dropping. How do you curl straight hair with a curling iron without it looking fake..?
Try garnier fructis soft curl cream, this product lets you srunch without it looking crunchy. wash and put in about a dime-sized amout, scrunch, and do a (quick) shot of holding hairspray. when it dries, it will look amazing!
You want to straighten your hair first- even if your hair is already straight. Then you want to spray water on it. Let hair dry naturally... And voila! Natural looking curls!
If you have a good diffuser on your hairdryer (a cup one not a flat one) use AG's Recoil, add it to wet hair after you get out of the shower then difuse your hair (scrunch scrunch scrunch along the way) and you'll get this awesome sort of curly beach hair and the stuff smells awesome too. Also it doesn't have that stickiness like some hairsprays do and it doesn't go crispy, it's actually soft. This will only work if you have a proper diffuser though.
Yes, don't use hair spray to hold your curls, use like a setting lotion and then curl your hair, finish it up with a polisher, or just use a wet set... it does less damage then using a curling iron.
a good way is to make slightly different sized curls and just a little hair spray
curl it in a brick laying pattern as if you where putting rollers into your hair
I wouldn't reccomend using hairspray if you have thick hair because then it weighs it down. If you are curling your hair for a specific occassion, Curl your hair 2 hours before.. This will give it time to let the curls settle, and they won't look so bouncy
