That look is created by a 1 inch curling iron, and your hair sounds like its long enough to do a similar look :)
How i would do it is that i would apply about 2 palmfuls of mousse to my hair, then brush it through and blowdry it quickly so the mousse dries, then clip the hair up into layers
Curl each layer, but alternate between sizes of chunks (do some 2 inch sections, 1 inch sections and 1/2 inch sections for htat random look), and when you get to the hair around your face, curl away from your face to get those curls to frame your face.
after you're finished, let the curls cool completely then run your fingers through the curls and finish off with hairspray :)HAir questions?? please click if you curl/flat iron your hair?
as for curling it think twice about a curling iron, I'd use a flat iron just because its better for you hair, its quicker and easier.
