How to curl my wavy poofy hair?

When I curl my hair with curlers I get creases and it just looks horrible! When i curl my hair with a curling iron my hair falls out because it is thick and doesn't hold it. How do I get my hair in ringlet-styled curls? How to curl my wavy poofy hair?
(1) When using rollers, use the velcro ones. Place them very close to one another, touching if possible, then, when ready to remove the rollers, do so carefully, so as not to disturb the curl. Brush through your hair several times to set the curl, then style your hair with a pick, for setting the style %26amp; for lifting the hair.

(2) When using a curling iron, place your curls close together, using a comb to make sections to curl. Be sure to get the ends in the curling iron. You'll end up with more curl if you don't put a lot of hair in each section. Once the hair is completely curled, let the curls cool for a few minutes, then brush through your curls or just use pick and/or your fingers to style your hair. The key is to let the curls cool.

Next, spray your hair with a '; hard'; holding hair spray after your hair is styled to your liking. Aussie ';Instant Freeze'; works great in holding the hair in place. How to curl my wavy poofy hair?
you should get a perm
Two Methods : 1st is called wet set you will need setting lotion and your hair to be wet you will also need roller called cold rods these can be found in local beauty stores. 2nd Method is Bantu buns which gives you the same ribbon-like curls of Jessica Simpson or beyonce . you will need your hair wet and also setting lotion to set the curls ,next part your hair in sections creating small buns on your head secure with pins the more section the more your hair will look full.
i have the same problem...this should help. blow dry your hair straight. then use a straightener if you can't get out all of your curls. then i use a 1-1 1/2 inch curler. when i curl my hair i seperate the pieces and curl 1 layer at a time each section of hair is about 1 inch wide (i have very thick hair) then i spray hair spray all over and go to bed. if there are any pieces out of place in the morning i do a quick fix and i'm on my way
I saw a famous hairstylist (Nick Arroyo on What Not To Wear) do this for a black/Latina girl on tv last night, so I'm not giving you this first-hand, it's more of a translation.

Wash and condition your hair, use a fairly heavy-duty conditioner as hair like yours tends to be dry. Towel-dry, and work a styling creme through your damp hair (I don't have any product suggestions, maybe somebody else can recommend something). Then take one little section at a time (each the size of a finger), and twist it round and round your finger, like as if you were twirling it to flirt with a guy. It should form a ringlet. Keep twisting it until that section flattens around your finger and keeps the curlique shape when you remove your finger. Repeat.

You might want to put the top few layers of your hair up in a clip and start with the lower layers, then just let a little bit down at a time as you work your way up.

Just let it dry naturally like that; the styling cream should be heavy-duty enough to help the curls hold their shape.

Good luck - hope it works!
well it would take awhile but :: straighten it first, then curl it with a curling iron, do little strands of hair at a time. then just use lots of hairspray =]
Go to the hairdresser and ask for a LIGHT perm and NOT a TIGHT perm. This will produce wavy curls. It might be a little tight for a couple of days, dont wash it for 48 hours, then do so after that, gently though, it will then drop a little and be managable, use a good conditioner also something like Tresamme ok
