curling your hair daily is one of your problems. the heat is very damaging to your hair, because it drys out the moisture in your hair. try using rollers in your hair at night. have somebody roll them in for you while your hair toweled dry/wet, and use clips to hold them in place. yes it will be hard for you to sleep but there is no damage to it or use a blow dryer on low, its less more damaging than the iron. and you wouldn't have to cut your hair as much. but also getting your hair trimmed every 4-8 weeks is good for your hair. using a salon shampoo is also good to.
I would use Aveda Style Prep Smoother. If that weighs down your hair too much then try Aveda Damage Control.
If you want a heat protectant thats really going to work then you need to get it at a salon.

Even while applying heat protector, irons do, unfortunately, still damage your hair quite a bit. I think you should stop applying so much direct heat to is, or at least to the ends, because in the long run it's really unhealthy for your hair to be experiencing so much while you're still young...
