What is the best way to curl straight hair with a curling iron how do you make the curls really big and bouncy

step by step directions please :-D thanksWhat is the best way to curl straight hair with a curling iron how do you make the curls really big and bouncy
Do not wash your hair for at least 24 hours before trying to curl it. If you must wash it, use only a very small amount of shampoo, and do not condition your hair.

Buy a curling iron at a beauty supply store or even a drugstore. They can be as cheap as $20 or even lower. When buying one, consider the size of the barrel (the part where you curl your hair). The wider the barrel, the bigger the waves/curls will be.

Heat up your curling iron in an outlet for about 5 minutes or as long as necessary.

Apply a styling cream made especially for curled hair styles such as Luster's S-Curl Comb Thru Texturizer Extra Strength and comb through with a wide-toothed comb.

Determine the size you'd like the curls to be, and separate one lock of hair.

Spray the lock with an extra strength-hold hairspray.

Using a foam curler or hot roller, roll the lock of hair into the curler TIGHTLY from the bottom up. Fasten securely at the scalp, using bobby pins if necessary.

Keep curler/rollers in hair for as long as necessary (until they cool, or the curl is holding).

Tips

After you're done curling and the curls cooled down a bit, go through the curls with a pick.

You can also try giving your curls a spritz of hairspray while they're cooling down.

Wash your hair as normal, then when still wet, braid your hair in tight and/or big braids. Unbraid when dry.

Don't curl just anywhere. Start at the tip or you will get a kink in your hair.

You can also braid your hair at night (big sections will result in loose curls) and take it down in the morning.

Use decorating hair ornaments for extra effects.

Wrap ends of braids around a barrette or another tool that will achieve the same goal for curly ends.

After teasing hair out,dab a few drops of your favorite perfume oil on your scalp.

Curling irons work better when hair has not been washed for 24 hours.

Warnings

Don't plug in your curling iron near water.

Curling irons get extremely hot, so be careful not to burn your head or hair.

Do not brush unless you absolutely need to or else your hair will frizz terribly. You can use a hair-sprayed brush that's it.What is the best way to curl straight hair with a curling iron how do you make the curls really big and bouncy
The key to great curls will lots of bounce is to use something beforehand to prep your hair. V05 has some good products out there for curls - try one of those. After you've applied the product, use the barrel and hold it in place for about 8-10 seconds, depending on hair thickness. Use a bigger curling iron for bigger curls. Spray with some light-hold hair spray so there is still some bounce, and you'll have gorgeous hair! For other ideas, try this website, which has short video clips showing you how. Good luck:

U CAN EITHER USE A CREAM LIKE STUDIO LINE 4RM LOREAL PARIS AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THEN U CAN USE ROLLERS OR A 2 INCH CURLING IRON
Grab an old sheet or a couple of old t-shirts - it doesn't matter what the rags are made from, as long as they're natural fiber, and lint-free! For an average head of hair and for typically sized ringlets, you'll need about 20 rags. Cut or tear into strips about 3 inches wide and about 9 inches long (longer if you've got long hair).

If you have hard to curl hair, you'll also need some setting lotion or lightweight gel. (Mousse or light hold hairspray works well, too.)

Shampoo and condition your hair as usual, and let it dry until it's barely damp. If your hair hates to hold a curl, fingercomb some setting lotion through it. If you don't have the time or inclination to wash your hair, use a mister to dampen your hair instead.

Section your hair into 1'; - 3'; sections.

Take one of your rags, and lay it alongside a section of hair so that about an inch of the rag is above the roots.

Smooth the strand of hair, and wrap it around the rag in a spiral. Wrapping the hair tightly will give you tighter curls, Wrapping the spiral tighter (using less of the rag) will give you springier curls. Leave yourself at least an inch at the bottom of the rag.

Tie the two ends of the rag together making sure that the ends of the strand aren't sticking out anywhere, and you're done with your first rag! Finish up the rest of the sections of hair and tie them off neatly.

It's time for bed! Go ahead and sleep on your rags. If you left your hair a bit wet, you might consider putting a towel over your pillow - but make sure it's a well-used one, so you don't end up with towel-lint in your curls.

When you wake up the next morning, gently untie your rags - you'll end up with some wonderful sausage curls. A quick spritz of gentle-hold hairspray, and maybe a pretty scarf tied into a headband, and you're ready to head out the door with some great curls. If you'd prefer less obvious ringlets, gently comb through each curls with a wide-tooth comb once or twice, then through your whole head of curls.
Instead of curling your hair at the bottom, as normal, start at the top of the peice of hair.

1) About a half inch from your scalp put the curling iron around your hair and turn once, leave for a few seconds

2) Slightly open the iron and move it down a tad and turn it again

3) Do this all the way down, turning while rolling the end hair up until all of it is on the curling iron

4) Let all of it sit in the iron for a few seconds, then let go

You will have a curl from scalp to end. It's great! It's how I do my straight hair.
