Wrap your damp hair around the barrel of a curling iron. Keep it there for a few seconds, spritz it with some spray gel and slowly loosen it. :) If your hair is thin, I think you should use a 1';.How do you create really nice curls with a curling iron for long hair?
Dont curl newly washed hair...they last longer if the hair has been washed the night before, I work in a salon and do curls all day long now its getting sunny, if you are using the large GHD's that may be the problem, use a moose (GHD moose is great, its not like the mooses that were round years ago, its really silky) or a moisturer with a slight hold, use the medium straightener and make the curls tight, they may look funny but will drop down slightly. Also use a serum to separate the curls, and give the hair a spray after each section.
I know it sounds gross, but curl your hair while its dirty. The curls with stay in better.

Get some sponge curlers and keep them in for about 45 mins. That should give you the curls you want. Then do some touch ups with a curling iron.

To keep the curls in, I suggest using products from the Ojon collection. You can get it at the store Sephora. They have amazing hair products. The hairspray is really nice. It's made with cocoa beans, so it smells awesome. It keeps your hair in perfect place without it getting stiff.

Hope that helps
In this case you're probably going to need to use hot rollers. After applying the hot rollers to your entire head and allowing them to set, lightly brush the resulting curls and spray with hair spray to hold. You can also use standard hair rollers on damp hair or fashion your hair into pin curls using bobby pins and sit under a hair dryer until the hair is dry. Use hair spray to hold your new curls.
